This is the peak season for tree pollen and that makes it allergy season for many people.
If you think you’re safe from that irritant once you go inside…think again.
Local Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacist, Hans Epp tells 680 CJOB says there’s one key thing you should do once you get inside.
“Have your air conditioner on because that actually filters the air in your house through a filter. We can even get a little bit more aggressive by getting a filter for our furnace that actually can block pollen and dust and different things like that, that could be causing allergies,”says Epp.
He adds you should also shower off after working outside. Wearing large sunglasses can keep pollen out of your eyes and consider wearing a mask or scarf over your nose and mouth.
If you are suffering with symptoms there’s over the counter remedies available. Epp adds if you need something beyond that, pharmacists here can also prescribe medication for you, without having to see a doctor.
