It’s a long awaited plan to improve cell service in River Heights, but it’s not sitting well with one local Mom.
MTS wants to build a new cell tower at a building they own on Niagara Street.
Nearby resident, Abigail Mickelthwate says she’s worried about it making her kids sick.
“Even if they say to me there is no health concern, why put a question mark on it? I have two beautiful little boys. Do I need to have a question mark in my life now? You know, in 20 years from now, at my son’s graduation, he’ll have cancer? It’s not fair,” said an emotional Mickelthwate.
She says MTS have been “sneaky” by only telling the 19 homeowners who live in the direct area about the tower.
The company have organized a public meeting at River Heights Community Centre, on June 1st.
They say the tower follows Health Canada rules.
