Are you trying to find work-life balance? Well, Prime Minister Trudeau has found it – or at least a day of it – while on tour in Japan.
He’s taking a day to celebrate his 11th wedding anniversary with his wife Sophie.
“This is the kind of work-life balance that I’ve often talked about as being essential in order to be able to be in service of the country with all one’s very best, and that’s certainly something I’m going to continue to make sure we do,” Trudeau told reporters in Tokyo.
While many are quick to chastise the new PM, many people also lack a work-life balance. While employees may seek this elusive balance, employers often seek to get the most out of their employees (even at the expense of morale, productivity and ultimately mental health).
So how do you feel about Trudeau declaring a work-life balance day for himself? Do you think it can influence employers? Or do you think, if the prime minister cares so much about this, maybe he should push for legislation to somehow mandate more work-life balance days for Canada’s workforce?
