WINNIPEG- The Winnipeg Goldeyes, fresh off a 6-4 season opening ten game road trip, kept that momentum going in their home opener at Shaw Park Monday Night with a 3-2 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries.
A packed house of 7076 watched the Fish rally from an early 1-0 deficit to hand the struggling visitors their 6th loss in a row.
Outfielder Adam Heisler went 3 for 4 to improve his batting average to .439, and also drove in the game winning run in the fifth inning after Wes Darvill got on base with a triple.
Team mate David Rohm saw his 10 game hitting streak end, but the American Association batting leader (.444) did bring in the tying run with a second inning sacrifice fly.
Mike O’Brien allowed 4 hits and struck out 6 in 5 2/3rds innings to improve to 3-0 on the season.
