WINNIPEG – City hall is launching a review of how we put up billboards and digital signs in this city.
It comes in the wake of a new report suggesting we have too many and the city isn’t enforcing its own rules about size or location.
An unelected group called the Board of Adjustment has final say and is approving almost every application, even when city planners recommend saying no.
That group could be stripped of its powers under this review.
It will also look at better ways to enforce the rules.
The review is to be finished by September.
