Canada has added its name to an international treaty aimed to reduce child labor around the world. The minimum age for employment would be at least 15 years. It got us to thinking about our first jobs and how old we were. For Richard–he was 10 when he started pumping gas at his family’s service station. For me-Kathy?–it was the day I turned 14. I gave myself the birthday present of a job cleaning tables at a restaurant in Brandon. What about you? How old were you when you first started working? Many who weighed in on our 680 CJOB facebook page talked about paper routes at 10 or 11. Or, working on the family farm at a young age.
