WINNIPEG – If you’re a member of CAA Manitoba, your fees could soon be going down.
The auto club has voted to merge with CAA South Central Ontario.
CAA Manitoba president Mike Mager tells 680 CJOB the move will help keep costs down.
“We’re not going to try to bring down membership fees, we’re actually going to do that. We’re going to bring our fees down to South Central Ontario fees,” Mager explains. “We’re going to bring those down for our members immediately, and then we’re going to move forward to keep fees either frozen or reduce them.”
Mager says that one of the key points of the deal was to make sure no jobs were lost.
“We’re keeping all of our people both here and in Ontario. There will certainly be some jobs that maybe have different roles, different purposes, report to different people. We’re going to try some new business ventures, utilize those folks to grow our business and develop our revenues to result in lower membership fees.”
Mager confirms that each province will keep their own call centres. After cutting through red tape, the move should be finalized by the end of the summer.
