WINNIPEG – The countdown is on to the Red River Ex.
The annual fair starts on Friday and President, Garth Rogerson tells 680 CJOB they’re bringing something in from the Big Apple, called The 9-11 Never Forget exhibit.
“So, it’s from New York City and it has all the artifacts. We’re bringing four firefighters from New York City, so they’re there to answer people’s questions, very interesting exhibit,” said Rogerson.
He adds there will also be two new rides on the biggest midway they’ve ever had.
“This is actually the largest amount of rides we’ve ever brought. So, we added two new ones. The Himalaya and Charlie Chopper, which is a kids ride. So, it’s the largest presentation we’ve ever done,” Rogerson explained.
And, he’s hoping a lot of people will take advantage of ways to get in for a reduced price, as they’ve tried to ensure the Ex is accessible.
“If you come before 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, it’s half price. If you come on Sunday morning, it’s free admission from 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and a free pancake breakfast. So, the idea is just to make it accessible so anybody can come out and enjoy the day.”
