WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers trimmed down the roster Saturday afternoon, releasing nine players and moving another nine to the practice roster.
One of the most notable cuts by the Blue and Gold is defensive back Matt Bucknor, who revealed the news on twitter Saturday morning, hours before the team announcement confirmed his release:

Joining Bucknor among the nine players given their outright release were two other holdovers from last year, running back Carlos Anderson and offensive lineman Jace Daniels. Also let go were Canadian offensive lineman Zach Intzandt and Americans Emmanuel Dieke, Julian Talley, Fred Williams, Justin Veltung, and Jonte Green.
Nine players were released but agreed to go on the practice roster. They included veteran defensive end Louie Richardson and running back Timothy Flanders
All teams have until Sunday at 10:59am central time to submit their 46-man roster and 10-man practice squad.
