WINNIPEG – Andrew Harris’ hamstring has healed up enough for him to get the start for the Bombers in their season opener.
Harris will be in the backfield when the blue and gold start their CFL season at home to the Montreal Alouettes on Friday.
A key offseason addition for the Bombers, Harris is expected to provide production and experience on the new look offence.
The Winnipeg native ran for 1039 yards and 8 touchdowns with the BC Lions last season.
DB Added to Practice Roster
The Bombers have also added international defensive back Travis Hawkins to their practice roster.
Hawkins, 25, played 15 games for the Argonauts last season.
He played college football at Delaware and signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2014.
