WINNIPEG – Winnipeg police need help putting pieces together in the death of a man in the North End.
Early Wednesday morning, emergency crews pulled David Sanderson, 50, from his burning home in the 300-block of Aberdeen Avenue.
He died in hospital. An autopsy revealed he had been assaulted before the fire. They’re calling his death a homicide.
Now, Constable Jason Michalyshen says they want to speak to anyone who might have seen him between Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning when the fire was allegedly set.
“We hope we’ll fill in some of the blanks with respect to some of his comings and goings before the incident, people he may have had contact with,” he said.
Police say Sanderson was in the Main Street area between Dufferin and Selkirk during that time frame.
