WINNIPEG – A man in a black van is wanted after he allegedly tried to abduct an 11-year-old boy.
Police say the boy was walking alone near Simpson Avenue and Besant Street when the unknown man approached.
He drove past the boy, parked his van and got out, yelling at the boy to “Get in my car now.”
The boy tried running away but the suspect grabbed him by the wrist and tried to drag him to his van.
The victim eventually got free, ran home and his parents called police.
The suspect is described as Aboriginal, 24-years-old with a medium build and fair complexion; 6’3″-6’6″ in height; dark, medium length hair, dark thin goatee and mustache; missing some teeth; a white-and-black cross tattoo on his right forearm; wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes and sunglasses.
His van is described as a newer model black van with tinted windows, possibly a Dodge Caravan with rust on the back and red colouring on the rear bumper.
He was last seen turning onto Besant Street and driving off.
