WINNIPEG – Two men were badly burned after an alleged drug-related explosion in Selkirk last weekend.
RCMP say crews were called to a house fire in the 700 block of McLean Avenue just before 6 am Sunday morning.
Investigators later determined that illegal drug-making in the bathroom was the likely cause.
Two men were rushed to hospital with severe burns. They are now stable. Four other adults and a six month old baby were not hurt.
Sgt Bert Paquet says in a release, this was a dangerous situation for everyone involved.
“This is a tragic situation and a reminder of the serious risks involved in the production of illegal drugs,” he said.
RCMP are still investigating.
