WINNIPEG – It’s been a key reason why restaurants don’t seem to work on the Esplanade Riel bridge – no parking.
That could be set to change as the city plans to lease a parking lot to Mon Ami Louis.
It opened up last year after two other restaurants, including a Salisbury House, failed to stay afloat.
The lot has six parking stalls and is at the foot of the bridge on the St. Boniface side.
It’s currently owned by the city’s Water and Waste department but would be leased to the restaurant for $1 per year.
The restaurant is also planning to open a new patio outside – facing the Red River.
