WINNIPEG – Hail the size of golf balls fell in parts of western Manitoba during yesterday’s storms.
Environment Canada says Deloraine, Cartwright and Anola saw the largest hail.
Loonie-sized hail fell on parts of Winnipeg.
Manitoba Public Insurance says they’ve opened 200 hail claims as of about noon today. Recently, MPI said they wanted to raise rates because of an increase in the number of hail claims.
In other areas, wind was the issue. Gusts up to 115 kilometres an hour were reported in Gretna.
