WINNIPEG – It’s a tragic ending to the search for a missing Winnipeg man.
Police have confirmed the body of Herry Patel was found in a submerged car in the Red River.
The 31-year-old was last seen June 26 leaving his East Kildonan home to go to work.
Crews were first called to the area around the Fort Garry bridge Thursday, but gave very limited details.
On Canada Day, a Winnipeg Police dive team found a red Hyundai Elantra that belonged to Patel but did not identify the body they found inside, saying an autopsy needed to be done first.
Police do not suspect any foul play.
