WINNIPEG – The two people who were in critical condition following two separate house fires are now in stable condition.
Just before 10 p.m. Friday night, firefighters had to force their way into a Fort Garry bungalow engulfed in flames.
One woman was found unconscious inside the home on the 800 block of Lyon Street.
She was rescued and rushed to hospital by ambulance in critical condition, but her condition has been upgraded to stable.
Then at around 4 a.m. Saturday, crews were called to the 500 block of Young Street.
Four people had already escaped, but all were taken to hospital. One man was in critical condition, but has been stabilized. A woman is also in stable condition. Another man and a boy were treated and released.
The cause of both fires are under investigation. Damage is estimated at $200,000 for the Lyon fire.
