MANITOBA – About 4,000 Manitoba Hydro customers are still without power following Wednesday’s storm.
Crews have made a lot of progress in the Long Plain – Portage la Prairie area, with restoration expected some time tonight.
A tornado did a lot of damage in Long Plain First Nation.
Most major equipment in St. Andrews and Selkirk has now been repaired.
Meanwhile, Hydro Spokesperson Scott Powell says while the number of customers without power in the Whiteshell were not the highest, those calls are proving to be among the most difficult.
“We have more restricted access. In some cases I know there’s a couple of calls where we have boat access only. So, there are smaller number of customers in that area, but there’s a lot of calls.”
At the height of the outage, 48, 000 customers were without power across the province.
