KANSAS CITY, KAN. – A night after blowing their 8th save of the season, the Winnipeg Goldeyes once again flirted with disaster.
The Goldeyes emerged with a 7-6 victory but it wasn’t easy.
Tied 4-4 entering the 9th, the Fish scored three runs on a pair of two-out doubles.
After a pair of walks and a strikeout to start the bottom half, the T-Bones made it a one-run game with a double, but the batter tried extending it into a triple and was thrown out, effectively quashing the rally.
The Goldeyes improved to 33-27 with the win. The rubber match goes at 1:05 this afternoon in Kansas.
