WINNIPEG – Some cottage owners are having their fees frozen for the next two years.
The province is freezing increases to service fees and crown land rental fees for cottages in provincial parks.
Cottage owners will now be consulted about fees.
“We believe cottage owners are prepared to pay their fair share,” Sustainable Development Minister Cathy Cox said in a statement. “We want to take the time to develop a fee system that more accurately and transparently reflects service costs.”
The province says the owners’ input will be used to shape any future changes.
