Winnipeg – There wasn’t much drama going into the final rounds of the Manitoba Senior Women’s and Men’s Golf Championships at Glendale on Wednesday. And Southwood’s Rhonda Orr and Mike Walker of St. Boniface made sure it stayed that way.
Orr captured her third Senior Women’s title in the last fur years by finishing an incredible 22 shots ahead of runner up and club mate Matty Leung.
Orr shot rounds of 76-84-77 to finish at 21 over 237 for the 54 hole competition.

Walker began the day with a six stroke lead over defending Provincial Sr. Men’s Champ Garth Collings, and only gave up a stroke with his first above par round of the tournament at 3 over 75 after back to back even par 72’s on Monday and Tuesday.

Orr will now lead Team Manitoba into the Canadian Women’s Mid Amateur and Senior Championship beginning August 24th in Ponoka, Alberta.
The Canadian Men’s Senior Championship begins September 6th in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
