WINNIPEG – The cleanup continues this morning after thunderstorms tore through Manitoba to end the long weekend.
The final tally shows about 55 millimetres came down in parts of eastern Winnipeg. Some areas south of the city got hit even harder, with about 83 millimetres coming down in Winkler. Areas just west of the city, like Headingley, saw golf ball sized hail.
There may have also been a tornado in our province as the rain came down.
A twister was spotted in the Camperville region of Western Manitoba and a funnel cloud was seen near Morris yesterday morning.
Two tornadoes were spotted in Saskatchewan earlier in the weekend. The bad weather started in Alberta, with parts of fire ravaged Fort McMurray seeing flash flooding.
