WINNIPEG – The city’s largest downtown street festival is gearing up for another massive party.
Many-Fest will take over Broadway between September 9th and 11th.
Organizers were outside the Manitoba Legislature Wednesday releasing details on new activities for the sixth edition of the festival.
Jason Sivixay with Downtown Winnipeg BIZ tells 680 CJOB it’s events like Many-Fest that changes the perception of the downtown area.
“When we do our Probe Research studies about Many-Fest and these festivals, what we realized is that 6 out 10 Winnipeggers come out to Many-Fest and those who come to Many-Fest actually say that it changed their mind on downtown for the better. Nearly 50 per cent of those attendes,” said Sivixay.
The popular Food Truck Wars are returning and for the first time ever the area will be licensed, so you can sip on beer and wine while waiting in line for some munchies.
The festival is also embracing Pokemon GO by setting up hot spots for kids playing the game.
Last year, nearly 70-thousands visitors took in the downtown festival.
