WINNIPEG – A massive portrait of the Queen is looking for a good home.
The picture of Elizabeth the Second once hung in the old home of the Winnipeg Jets.
Co-Owner Jamie Boychuk tells 680 CJOB he’s brought the iconic painting home.
“I purchased it with a partner about a year and a half ago in the Toronto area and moved it to Winnipeg and restored it since,” said Boychuk.
A Kijiji ad is now up looking for a new owner.
Boychuk hopes to find a place where the portrait can be embraced by the community.
In 1979, Lieutenant-Governor of Manitoba, Francis Lawrence (Bud) Jobin commissioned the painting of the Queen by commercial artist/muralist Gilbert Burch from the global media agency, Mediacom.
