MANITOBA – The province will take a look at safety on our beaches following the death of two young kids at Grand Beach.
The 11-year-old and 12-year-old drowned on Monday night after the parent watching them, lost sight of the pair in the setting sun.
Sustainable Development Minister Cathy Cox tells 680 CJOB’s Geoff Currier its time to review beach safety program.
“Based on the tragedy we will look at perhaps moderizing the program and change it some what. Also, ensuring that all Mantiobans know the importance of safety in the water,” said Cox.
She adds it’s a huge concern to the government and education plays a big role in safety.
