MANITOBA – Gimli and Selkirk are getting money to put in new sewage treatment plants.
The provincial and federal governments are partnering to fund the projects.
One is a new and larger treatment plant in Selkirk, which will be big enough to also serve St Andrews and the Lower Fort Garry national historic site.
The idea is for both to help improve and protect water quality in the Red River and Lake Winnipeg.
The total cost is pegged at around $53 million.
