Can you ever justify leaving a dog in a car?
This morning, Mark Pirozek, the person who took the above picture asked, “How can you do this to a cute little dog.[sic]” I followed up with Mark and this is his email reply:
“I arrived at work to find his car in the parking lot. I called 311, they gave me the number to the humane society.
I spoke with them and they said they would respond immediately. I then tweeted to city of Winnipeg 311 and I got the following response
If the windows are cracked the dog is likely not in any immediate danger, but if you’d like to report any suspected humane issues, you can contact the Chief Veterinary Office with the Province of Manitoba at (204)945-8000. You may need to leave a voice mail, but the phone is monitored 7 days a week so someone will get back to you.
About 10 to 15 minutes later the owners returned they were coming from the HSC. [sic]”
The windows in the picture to appear to be cracked open a bit, so does that make it okay to have left that dog in the car? Taking your texts and calls after 1pm: 204.780.6868.
