WINNIPEG – A man in his forties has been diagnosed with West Nile Virus.
It’s the first human case this year in our province. The man was taken to hospital, suffering from neurological symptoms. He’s from the Southern Health Region.
Officials aren’t revealing his exact condition. They believe he was exposed around July 17th.
This is traditionally a high risk time of year for the virus.
The last death from the virus in Manitoba was 2013.
