Winnipeg – Outstanding performances by rookie Defensive Back Kevin Fogg and veteran Receiver Clarence Denmark in last Friday’s 34-17 win at Toronto have earned the Winnipeg Blue Bomber team mates two of the three Shaw Top Performer Awards for Week Eight in the CFL.
The last time the Blue Bombers had multiple weekly award winners was during the 2013 season when Demond Washington and Will Ford were named the Week 11 Defensive and Special Teams Players for their efforts in a 25-13 “Banjo Bowl” win over Saskatchewan at Investors Group Field.
Denmark had a career night with 7 receptions for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Fogg sparkled on special teams with 6 punt returns for 98 yards and a kickoff return for 20 yards. The 25 year old native of Raleigh, North Carolina also had 4 defensive tackles, 2 interceptions, and a quarterback sack and fumble recovery.
Edmonton Linebacker Deon Lacey rounded out the Week Eight Top trio with nine defensive tackles and his first career interception in the Eskimos 23-12 victory over Montreal.
