WINNIPEG – No charges will be laid against an RCMP officer who’s firearm was stolen and used in a shooting on Autumnwood Drive last year.
16-year-old Calli Vanderaa was shot in the chest on October 24th outside a convenience store near Winakwa.
Vanderaa was rushed to hospital in critical condition where she underwent hours of emergency surgery.
Two men in their 20’s have been arrested and remain in custody
The weapon used to shoot her was stolen from the cruiser of an off duty RCMP officer outside his home.
Now the Mounties and that officer are not out of hot water.
Earlier this year it was announced, Vanderaa and her father were suing the Mounties and that officer.
That is still before the courts.
