WINNIPEG – Whether or not six infants were born alive remains a key question at the Andrea Giesbrecht trial.
42-year-old Giesbrecht is accused of hiding the remains of the infants in a McPhillips Street storage locker. They were discovered in 2014.
Prosecutors have called another pathologist today who said the babies were full term and could have been live birth, but he can’t be sure.
He said the remains were so decomposed that it’s impossible to determine a cause of death.
DNA testing has shown Giesbrecht is likely the mother.
