Winnipeg – Andrew Harris and Justin Medlock of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are among the Shaw CFL Top Three Performers of Week Ten. Joining the two Winnipeg players is running back Shakir Bell of Edmonton.
Harris carried the ball 16 times for 61 yards to increase his league leading total to 575 yards midway through the season. The veteran running back also caught 5 passes for 61 yards and scored a game clinching touchdown late in the fourth quarter of last Friday’s 32-18 win in Montreal.
Medlock was a perfect 6/6 on field goal attempts, splitting the uprights from 39-47-13-20-32- and 40 yards. The all time most accurate field goal kicker in CFL history has lived up to that title by successfully converting his last 20 in a row to improve to 27/31 on the season.
The last time Medlock missed a field goal try was a 49 yard attempt in the third quarter of a 20-16 home loss to Edmonton during Week Four of the schedule on July 14th.
The Blue Bombers have now had multiple winners of CFL Weekly honors the last two times they have played after going nearly 3 years without that happening.
And Sunday afternoon they will be looking for their first Labor Day Classic victory in Regina since 2004, along with their first five game winning streak going back to 2011.
