WINNIPEG – Universities in our city are seeing some of their highest enrolment numbers in history.
The University of Manitoba says 29, 620 people registered for classes this fall. It’s the second highest enrolment number the school has ever seen.
This is also the fourth consecutive year enrolment at the U of M has exceeded 29, 000 students.
Meanwhile, just over 9200 students enroled for fall classes at the University of Winnipeg, with Indigenous students making up 12 per cent of the student body.
The U of W also saw an increase in international students, up 13.5 per cent.
