LAVAL, QC. – Disgraced former hockey coach Graham James has been granted full parole.
The decision came down today from the National Parole Board.
James is serving a seven-year federal sentence for sexually assaulting players he coached in the late 80s and early 90s with the Swift Current Broncos.
He had already been granted day parole in January. Under full parole, he will now serve the remainder of his sentence in the community.
There are a number of conditions to the full parole. For instance, James cannot hold a position of trust with minors and cannot talk with his victims or their families.
The conditions will remain in place until the sentence runs out in 2019.
