Winnipeg – The U of M Bisons, fresh off a 42-12 rout of the Alberta Golden Bears last Friday at Investors Group Field, will try to get back to .500 on the season when they host the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in the Annual Homecoming Game Saturday Afternoon at 1 p.m.
It’s a game with “extreme” playoff implications for the U of M after getting off to an 0-2 start. A win will elevate the Herd back into a top 4 position in the Canada West Standings. Especially with three of those first four games having been played on home turf.
The Bisons will once again look to CIS Offensive Player of the Week, Theo Deezar and one man wrecking crew on defense, DJ Lalama to lead the way. Deezar threw for 345 yards and 4 touchdowns while scoring a major himself in the come from behind win over Alberta last week. And Lalama, an Edmonton Eskimos prospect, leads all Canada West players with an average of 9.3 Defensive Tackles per game.
