WINNIPEG – This year will be the last one for a City of Winnipeg program that helps you pay for a sump pump.
It started in 2011 to help homeowners dealing with basement flooding. The city would foot some of the bill for you to install a pump or backwater valve.
It was popular for a few years, but hardly anyone applies anymore. On top of that, the province is pulling its share of the funding.
As a result the city is cancelling the program starting in 2017.
