CHURCHILL – Some relief is in store for Churchill, Manitoba.
Navdeep Bains, the federal innovation minister was in the northern community Friday to announce $4.6 million of funding to find new ways to generate revenue.
The money will be used to help the tourism industry, arctic research and delivery of goods.
The funding will also be available to all communities along the Hudson Bay Rail Line.
The future of the town is looking grim with the port on Hudson Bay being shut down and dozens of workers laid off.
