Winnipeg – Make it three straight exhibition wins for the Winnipeg Jets following a 4-0 shutout of the Flames in Calgary Sunday Night.
Ondrej Pavelec had to resort to some unorthodox “flipping and flopping” at times, but stopped all 31 shots he faced in his first start of the pre-season after returning from the World Cup of Hockey where he was the #3 goalie for the Czech Republic behind Petr Mrazek and Michael Neuvirth.
Scott Kosmachuk led the way offensively for the Jets, scoring the first goal of the game on a nice setup by Chase De Leo. Kosmachuk also picked up a pair of assists on goals by Defencemen Ben Chiarot and Mark Stuart.
A third blueliner, Paul Postma, rounded out the scoring for Winnipeg (3-1) who will host Ottawa tonight at 7 p.m. in their final pre-season home game before closing out the seven game exhibition schedule with road games in Edmonton and Minnesota on Thursday and Saturday.
