WINNIPEG – The Tories are cutting 112 management positions in the provincial government by the end of 2017.
They expect most to occur through attrition and retirements although they didn’t rule out laying people off.
Finance Minister Cam Friesen says they’re taking these actions based on results from an internal and external review.
All departments will be part of this process as the province grapples with an $846 million deficit.
Friesen expects these cuts to save at least $10 million a year.
