WINNIPEG – Winnipeggers are picking up pumpkins to get ready for Halloween.
There was a bit of a shortage last year because of an early frost but things are looking better this year, according to local pumpkin farmer George Schwabe.
“This fall weather has been incredible,” says Schwabe. “We didn’t get a frost for a long time so the pumpkins… [are] very nice this year.”
He runs Schwabe Pumpkins north of the city in Clandeboye.
Schwabe says they have some different colours this year too including white, green or even pink.
