WINNIPEG – The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada is getting federal funding to help build a new facility.
The feds will contribute $1.2 million toward the construction of a new museum.
Helen Halliday, president and CEO of the museum tells 680 CJOB this is the largest amount of money they’ve ever received from government.
“Today’s announcement puts us over the 50 percent mark,” says Halliday. “It is a 40 million dollar campaign and this is what’s so exciting about it because it puts us over that milestone, which is tremendous.”
So far, they’ve raised close to $19 million from private donations.
