WINNIPEG – Prosecutors have stayed assault charges against former Winnipeg Jet Thomas Steen.
Steen was arrested in 2014 after an alleged incident with a women at a restaurant.
He was also charged with uttering threats but those charges have also been stayed by the crown.
In a statement by the Crown, they don’t explain why, only saying this decision comes following a thorough review.
Steen, who was a city councillor at the time, will play for the Jets alumni team in the upcoming Heritage Classic.
