WINNIPEG – Manitoba Hydro wants to explain to the public about the results of its recently completed review of the utility.
Hydro officials have scheduled four public meetings at different locations throughout the province to discuss the review with taxpayers.
Amid all of the concerns about the utility, Manitoba Hydro CEO Kelvin Shephard tells 680 CJOB, They’ve already had to make some big cuts, and they might not be done yet.
“We reduced our staffing by about 400 positions over the last three years. We’ve done that through attrition and normal retirements. I think that’s certainly an opportunity we’re going to look at going forward.”
The meetings will be held at the following locations:
- Oct. 18, at Winnipeg’s Victoria Inn (1808 Wellington Ave.), from 7-9 p.m.;
- Oct. 25, at Winkler’s Quality Inn (851 Main St.), from 7-9 p.m.;
- Nov. 3, at Thompson’s Royal Canadian Legions (101 Elizabeth Dr.), from 7-9 p.m.; and
- Nov. 9, at Brandon’s Victoria Inn (3550 Victoria Ave.), from 7-9 p.m.
