WINNIPEG – It’s been a fortunate series of events for Winnipeg’s hotels.
Lots of people are coming into the city for this weekend’s Heritage Classic at Investors Group Field.
President and CEO of the Manitoba Hotel Association Scott Jocelyn tells 680 CJOB it has been a very good week.
“We found a lot of places that filled up as early as last night with people coming in and seeing the [Toronto Maple Leafs] and people staying through the weekend,” says Jocelyn. “[This is] certainly not something we thought about but it’s certainly great for our hoteliers and for the city.”
Jocelyn says the high number of hotel bookings were unexpected but they are pleasant suprise.
The game between the Oilers’ and Jets’ alumni is on Saturday followed by the NHL game Sunday afternoon.
