TORONTO – The Manitoba Moose tried to fight but couldn’t fully dig out of an early hole in a 4-2 loss to the Marlies in Toronto.
The Marlies jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Nic Petan scored his second of the season late in the first.
Kevin Czuczman scored his first of the season on the power play to knot the game 2-2 in the second, but that was all the offence the Moose could muster. Byron Froese gave the Marlies the lead later in the second before icing the game with an empty-netter in the third.
Eric Comrie made 21 saves in the loss while Jack Roslovic picked up a pair of assists. The two squads meet again this afternoon in Toronto.
