The Winnipeg Jets defeated the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 in a shootout on Sunday afternoon at MTS Centre.
Patrik Laine and Mark Scheifele scored on Kings goalie Peter Budaj in the shootout, while Dwight King scored against Jets netminder Connor Hellebuyck.
The victory improves Winnipeg’s record to 8-7-2, while the Kings have dropped three straight to fall to 7-8-1.
The Kings scored first, with Tanner Pearson notching one in the first period for the Kings.
Adam Lowry and Marko Dano later countered for Winnipeg, both scoring power-play goals late in the opening frame.
Kings defenceman Tom Gilbert scored his first goal of the season to tie the game at 12:58 in the third.
Hellebuyck made 27 saves for Winnipeg, while Budaj had 27 saves for the Kings.
The Jets host Chicago on Tuesday.
