WINNIPEG — RCMP are investigating in the East St. Paul area Monday morning, after two people were rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds.
Around 6:15 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Raleigh Street between Glenway and Foxgrove Avenues.
When officers arrived on scene, there were two gunshot victims, a woman and man. Both were transported to hospital in critical condition, but have been upgraded to stable.
RCMP said there are reports that a light-coloured four-door car with three men was seen leaving the area at the time. It is believed the car is connected to the shooting incident, and this was not a random event.
There is no threat to public safety, RCMP said.
Police have blocked off Glenway and Foxgrove Avenues from Monson to Raleigh Streets as part of the investigation.
The RCMP canine unit is also on scene.
