WINNIPEG – A shooting in the North End on Monday has put a 38 year old man in hospital.
Emergency crews responded to the area of Pritchard Avenue near Salter Street at around 11:30 a.m. for reports of an injured man.
Winnipeg Police say the man was shot and he was rushed to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
This is now the fourth shooting in the Winnipeg area within the last two weeks.
Const. Jason Michalyshen would not confirm if any of these incidents are related.
“I’m not aware this one has any association to those at this time – I can’t confirm that, I will not confirm that,” Michalyshen said.
One man was killed and another injured during the gunfire on Saturday in the area of Stradbrook Avenue and Donald Street.
A man and a woman are in hospital following a shooting Monday in East St. Paul. Both are listed in stable condition and RCMP say that it was a targeted shooting.
Three suspects were seen leaving the area in light-coloured four-door car.
Winnipeg Police are also investigating a shooting on November 17, after man was shot while opening his door in the West Kildonan area.
In all four of these investigations, no arrests have been made.
“If we’re in a position to provide details that there is linkage between them, we’ll do so, but I’m certainly not doing that at this time,” Michalyshen said.
