WINNIPEG – Did you see Ace Hood at the Reset Interactive Ultralounge Friday night?
If so, police would like to talk to you.
You may recall on Saturday that there was a shooting at Donald Street and Stradbrook Avenue.
32-year-old Theodoros Belayneh and another man were shot in the early morning hours on Saturday. Belayneh died while the other man is in stable condition.
Now police are providing some background information on what the hours leading up to the shooting may have looked like.
They say that prior to being shot, Belayneh had been at the gaming lounge on Pembina Highway to see Ace Hood, a hip-hop artist.
Police are asking anyone who attended the concert, took photos or videos while inside or in the parking lot, to contact investigators. They want to find out who was associating with Belayneh that night to help piece together why the shooting took place.
“This is about identifying individuals, and that could mean many things. That could be someone we might want to talk further to, it could be someone who has pertinent information with respect to what they saw or heard in relation to our victim, could have valuable information with respect to suspects,” explains Constable Jason Michalyshen. “The public is an incredible support for us, and we don’t take that for granted.”
Police also want to reassure that the identity of anyone who comes forward will remain anonymous. If you can assist the investigation, you are asked to call 204-986-6508.
