WATCH: Jason Michalyshen of Winnipeg police said a 51-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Edward Dyck.
WINNIPEG – A 51 year old man is behind bars after his roommate was found dead in a garage in West Kildonan on Monday.
Winnipeg Police were called to a home on Belmont Avenue near Main Street at around 4:30 a.m. and found the body of Edward Lee Dyck, 55.
Dyck and another man both rent rooms at the house and investigators believe an argument erupted between the two on Friday. It’s alleged Dyck was seriously attacked and died from his injuries.
“I don’t have details as to what they were arguing about,” said Const. Jason Michalyshen. “I don’t know if there is a history between these two, but clearly things went from bad to worse.”
Dyck’s body was then dragged into the garage and left there for several days.
On Monday police arrested Dale Gregory Hilderman and charged with him second-degree murder.
Police ask anyone with further information to contact investigators 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
